Sadly, time goes by fast. And, without the impact a father’s presence can bring, many a youngster may turn down the wrong road in life. Perhaps that’s why our prisons are full of men — men who didn’t have a strong father, or father figure, to guide them.

Did you know that American children are left fatherless every 9 minutes? As parents and role models, your actions shape our young people’s futures — America’s future. Children shape the world so the time you spend with them is not only precious and fleeting, but vital.

However, with the craziness of today’s world — being a busy nation with lots of distractions — finding that time gets harder each day. You have the best intentions, but financial commitments can become time consuming . . . stress can be taxing . . . family priorities can be misplaced.

Introducing the Vision of Camp Makua

As people who care about our children’s future, we have a dream. That dream is called Camp Makua. A place that will take you away from the daily grind and give you the gift of time with your children, help us make this dream a reality.

Makua is the Hawaiian word for “parent.” For those of you who are fathers — men wishing to steer your children onto the pathways of heart — Camp Makua will be for you. Our vision for this camp is to create a place where you and your children can spend quality time together, discover your love and strengthen your relationship.

Bridging a Family’s Love

As the operators of Camp Makua, we want to develop a truly unique environment on the beautiful Hawaiian island of Molokai — one that wipes away tensions and replaces them with joyful and cherished family experiences.

An all-inclusive resort, Camp Makua’s mission will be to create camaraderie by helping you and your family help one another. Simply put, it will have a lot to offer for all the right reasons. Permeating a relaxed, Hawaiian spirit of “aloha,” it will:

• Cater specifically toward fathers and their children — participating in activities together in a wonderfully nurturing and supportive environment.
• Be a getaway experience dedicated to helping bridge your family’s love with an unforgettable fun-filled week or two-week program.
• Offer the expertise of world-class athletes guiding a wide variety of thrilling activities designed to help connect and bond your family in a memorable way.
• Provide comfortable island-style bungalows to accommodate you.
• Deliver delicious family-style meals 3 times a day.
